Riga International Airport (IATA Code: RIX) lies 10 kilometres / 6 miles from Riga, the capital of Latvia.

Founded in 1201, Riga nestles on the Gulf of Riga at the mouth of the Daugava river where it flows into the Baltic Sea.

Standing tall on the city’s skyline is the impressive soviet era Riga Radio and TV Tower. At 368.5 metres tall, it is the tallest structure in Latvia and the Baltic States, and one of the tallest in the European Union.
